     Ben was always taking things apart as a child trying to figure out how they worked. This tinkering continued as his interest evolved from toys to cars. Maintaining and repairing his and his friends vehicles seemed natural to him. So when he discovered the joys and rewards of high intensity training, it was a logical progression to start tightening loose bolts and taking a peek at the insides of the fancy machines. 

     Eventually he asked his coach if it would be okay if he could clean out the inside of the very dusty row ergs. The coach looked sideways at him and said, "Sure, if you want to." While cleaning these machines, it occurred to him that many coaches might not have the time to do this work also. This is when Ben's Box Mechanics was born.
